Myself and Admin Lil have been implementing a new look for the wikia over the past two days. We felt the old look looked a bit dull, and we wanted to update some of the graphics to fit tumblr's. 

However, we wanna know what you guys think aboiut it. Do you like it? Do you hate it? Let us know, cause unlike Tumblr we do care.

A character of mine was edited without my consent recently (Talitha Malfoy); as founder of this wiki I'd like to say, unless you have permission to do so, do not edit characters that don't belong to you unless the person specifically asked you to. It's one of the few rules we have here.

They are, as a reminder;

• Canon characters must have your username in brackets in the title [e.g. "Stefan Salvatore (Grace01121922)"], this is so if somone else comes along to make the character they can have their own version.
• Don't copy ideas, characters, graphics or text from people unless you've asked them.
• Don't mondify other peoples' characters unless they've asked you to.

Hi Guys,

I really don't know what to say, I have no words. But I'll try to make a rambling nonsense out of what I have. As hyperbolic and dumb as it sounds, I loved that little site, and I’ll probably always miss it now it’s gone. It was the first place I roleplayed, somwhere I really grew and developed as a person and a writer, I met some of my best online firends there, people i’ve known for eight years now and I am literally bawling my eyes out to see it go.

I loved its skins, other halves and all of those other knick knacks none of us really used. It was unique, colourful and vibrant, and I’m very truly devisted to see it gone.

It’s really kind of like growing up in a house all my life, going to work for a day and returning to seeing it a plie of bulldosed rubble. While it’s had for me to deny that it was flawed and falling apart a bit, I liked it for the cracks. Now whe have to wait and see what they build in its place. Here’s hoping it’s something we’ll all like. I’m not going to lie. I am still gonna be listening to my “Depressing Music” folder for the forseable future.

It's unfortunatly happened. The Bebo we know has gone for now. Who knows maybe the new site will contain enough of the site we liked in order for our community to rebuild and thrive. All I can say is that I really tried for you guys, and I like to think we did the best we could.

Bebo was in rough shape earlier in the year, apparently, it was worse than we thought. According to a spokesperson who talked to us, Bebo had "0 full-time employees, 400 of the 600 Bebo servers were failing", an appalling way for our beloved site to be in.

While we wish we could have the website how it was brought back to its former glory, that simply isn't the current teams vision. Te new team want to re-invent Bebo, make it cool again.

While I thought, like a lot of you might, that it would be awesome if they could have just embraced our awesome but nerdy roleplay community and tried to market and expand this world we all created, that just didn't work as a business model. No matter how hard they tried.

Lilika, Kirby and I are discussing the logistics of trying to buy the old code for Bebo and attempting to run a smaller site by a different name soley for the roleplaying community, but It'll be hard, if not, impossible to effectivly run.

Am I disappointed?

Hell yes, but personally, I'm still going to try the new Bebo.

Who knows? Maybe it'll be close enough to the old Bebo that we can reimerge victorious and prove them wrong. 

The good news is we're writing back to them and keeping in touch while the re-inventing process is going ahead. We're not going to change theor minds at this point, but maybe we'll help to make Bebo a place where roleplayers can still live.

Dear Bebo Roleplayers,

Thank you all for reaching out to us with your passion and support. At the time of purchasing Bebo back, we knew the site was in bad shape, and would ultimately require reinventing. Upon hearing from your passionate community, we’ve spent the past few weeks addressing a number of different methods for keeping the existing Bebo site alive while we work on the new Bebo.

After looking at all the options, unfortunately we haven’t been able to find a sustainable solution.

While we work on the new Bebo, the existing Bebo site will be shut down, starting Aug 7th, 2013. We apologize for the short notice, but we've spent the past few weeks searching to see if there is a viable alternative. 

We are building a tool that will save all Bebo member's photos and posts, and are trying to make them available for download within a few months. In the interim, you can log-in before Aug 7th and save any important photos, conversations, blog posts and anything else they want to have access to immediately, because the site will be inaccessible until we can finish building a tool that allows users to export their Bebo accounts.

I know this is not what you were hoping to hear, and we’re truly sorry to deliver the bad news. Bebo ultimately is about the people, not the website, and you all have been staples of the Bebo community. We hope that the roleplay community can find a new home to thrive in, and give the new Bebo a try when it's available. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at Bebo@monkeyinferno.com.

Hey Guys,

I have been asked by Shaan Puri, who is Bebo's new CEO, what makes Bebo so great for roleplaying. I know why I like it for roleplaying and why I find it better to use than other websites, but I'd like to know some of the things you like about Bebo. 

Bebo are open to the idea of roleplayers on the site, unlike Facebook. This gives us the opportunity to openly talk about why our community likes Bebo so much. I figure it's my duty to make sure everyone's opinion is considered in this rather than just my own.

So comment below why you roleplay on Bebo. What makes it stand out to you? if you only roleplay here, why here? Stuff like that.

Approximately five hours ago the photos returned, skins could be uploaded also and, I imagine, a lot of faith has been restored. Lilika is in the process of testing the email system to see if the verification emails are working again but we're not expecting miracles.

Obviously I have no idea what is going on yet, but my admin army and me are working on an answer, so far we got nothing, but we swear we are really working on it. I hope to receive some info before the coming Sunday, if we don’t get any info, sorry, but there’s not much we can do about it.

God only knows what is happening but I’m gonna ask anyone who has inactive accounts, which they no longer want/are willing to give away , to comment on this thread so I can put their link here, and we can get a system going where unused accounts can be recycled for the time being.

• You can verify accounts by emailing bebo at this adress, "support@bebo.zendesk.com", and requesting a verification.
• Dont't worry guys, If they have to verify everyone's Emails slowly as people Email them for a verifictaion, they will soon fix the automated system.
